Enrichment Clubs

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child states that:

Children have the right to join groups and organisations (Article 15); Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full (Article 29)

At Dulverton, we are proud to offer a wide variety of exciting after school clubs. We aim to inspire, excite and challenge our children beyond the classroom. These are the clubs that will run throughout the upcoming school year.

Art Club 

At KS2 Art Club, we have fun expressing our creativity through art. We experiment with new techniques or mediums each week. Run by Mrs Carrick

 

Cheer & Gymnastics Clubs run by

Cheer London Allstarz

 

These classes aid and assist children in building skills for life, not only in the incredible physical aspect of the  sport but through high levels of teamwork, discipline, leadership and commitment.

 

Choir Club - KS1

KS1 Choir is run by Mrs Chanchai, our Music Specialist Teacher. The children learn songs from various different musical genres and work towards concerts and performances throughout the year.

 

Choir Club  - KS2

Our KS2 Choir is led by Mrs Chanchai, our specialist music teacher. Children will have the opportunity to learn and perform a wide range of songs from a variety of musical genres, helping to develop their confidence, vocal skills and enjoyment of music.

There are two separate choir clubs across the academic year. The first club will rehearse during the Spring Term and will take part in the exciting Young Voices concert at The O2. The second club will run in the Summer Term and will include an inspiring theatre trip. By signing up, children are expected to commit to attending all sessions, including the planned O2 and theatre visit where applicable.

Throughout the year, choir members will also perform regularly in a variety of school concerts and events.

 

Cricket Club run by Concept

This club is open to children in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 and will be held on Thursdays. It presents a fantastic opportunity for the children to engage in various activities and develop their cricket skills in an enjoyable and inclusive environment.
Djembe / Samba Drumming Club

 

Djembe / Samba Drumming club will take place on a Tuesday Lunchtime for Year 5 & Year 6 pupils. The children do not need prior knowledge of any instrument to attend the club. Come along and learn about the drum instruments from Africa and Brazil and learn to play as an ensemble. The club will be run by Mr. Garcia our resident Drum Teacher. The children will work towards showcasing their pieces that they learn at the end of each term.

 

Drama Club

Drama Club is run by Mrs Bayram and is an opportunity for children to grow their confidence and develop their communication skills through drama games and activities. The children explore characters, stories, script work, improvisation, mime and more.

 

Eco-Club

Eco Club aims at making our school more environmentally friendly and led by Miss Bishop. The Eco Club team works together to learn about ways we can make greener choices and they discuss how we can implement them in our school environment.

Gardening Club

Join our new Gardening Club running every Friday from 3:15–4:15pm, led by our Forest School leader Mrs Saunders. Children will have the chance to plant seeds, care for plants, and learn how to cultivate and grow a variety of flowers and vegetables. It’s a great opportunity to get hands-on outdoors, develop gardening skills, and watch your plants grow over time.

Inkhead Creative Writing Club

This summer term at Dulverton Primary's Creative Writing Club, across 11 fun-filled sessions pupils will be crafting their own sea-faring stories filled with rolling waves, hidden treasure, mysterious islands, brave crews, and wonderful ocean creatures. Through weekly activities, children will build confidence in their writing while exploring adventure, collaboration and imagination. From secret maps to underwater discoveries to mermaids, every child can create their own journey and enjoy a term of creative exploration on the high seas.

 

Karate Club run by Hyo Gen Do Karate

This club, led by Sensei Steve Groom (5th Dan), emphasises not only the physical aspects of karate but also its philosophical foundations, which encourage personal growth, expression, and self-discipline.

Kinetic Kids Football Club

KS1 (Ages 5-7)

KS2 (Ages 7-11)

Kinetic Kids Academy Football Clubs provide a fantastic opportunity for children to stay active, learn new skills, and have fun with friends in a safe and supportive environment.

 

Kinetic KS2 Tennis Club run by Kinetic Kids Academy

Children will have the chance to practise forehands, backhands, serving and rallying through exciting activities that make learning tennis enjoyable for all ability levels  Whether your child is new to tennis or already enjoys playing, this club is a brilliant way to stay active, build skills and have fun with friends after school. Each session will be energetic, enjoyable, and packed with opportunities to learn through play.

Kinetic Kids Girls Football Skills and Development Club.

(Ages 3-6)

An all-girls training session for Years 1-6 where our pupils can gain football skills and boost confidence. 

KS2 Orchestra 

 

KS2 Orchestra will take place on a Wednesday before school 7.40am to 8.40am for Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 students. 

Children that learn any musical instrument and that can play at least 5 notes are welcome. Come along and learn how to play instruments play as an ensemble. You will learn valuable skills about to follow a conductor, and there will also be a visit in the Summer Term to see an Orchestra.  The club will be run by Mrs Chanchai our Specialist Music Teacher. The children will work towards showcasing their pieces that they learn at the end of each term.

Minecraft Club- Codecamp

Teaching kids to code using the amazing world of Minecraft. Children will experience everything from changing weather and switching off PVP to exploring historical places and dealing with a village at the foot of an erupting volcano. We integrate literacy and numeracy skills in the most enjoyable way possible!

 

Multi Sports Club run by Concept

C4F Multi Sports clubs give children an introduction to various sports in a fun and safe environment. The children get to experience sports such as football, tennis, hockey, athletics, basketball, cricket and more, learning the basic rules and technical aspects of the sports and then putting their skills into practice during fun games. All sessions are designed to incorporate and challenge all children, no matter their skill level or experience. The main focus of all sessions is that children have fun
Performers Club run by Centre Stage Academy

This club combines dance, drama and singing skills and provides students with a perfect foundation in Performing Arts. Great for building children's confidence, increasing social skills and boosting fitness,  all whilst having the most amount of fun! Each week students learn songs and scenes from musicals, movies and more with a performance at the end of each term.

 

School Football Team

 

Our school football team training sessions are run by Concept4Football and Mr Keevill for children in Years 5 and 6. We have four school teams; Boys A and B and Girls A and B teams. Children are selected for the teams based on the skills they demonstrate at trial sessions and in weekly training sessions. The training sessions provide opportunities for children to enhance their football skills and apply them to match scenarios. The teams are provided with opportunities to play competitively against other local teams.

 

School Netball Team

Our school netball team is run by Mrs Carrick. Children are selected based on the skills they demonstrate at trials. In training sessions, the children develop these skills and learn the technical aspects and rules of netball. They are provided with opportunities to play competitively against other local school teams.

 

Spanish Club

The club run by Mrs Edwards, our Specialist Spanish Teacher will provide children in Years 3 - 6 an introduction to the Spanish language with a focus on learning new speaking and listening skills through fun games, stories, songs and activities

 

STEM Club run by Fizzpop

STEM Club is run by FizzPop who provide hands-on investigations thereby allowing our children to explore, investigate and enjoy the wonders of Science. Each half term offers varied activities, which incorporate the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
