All 3 and 4-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early education per week during term time (known as the universal entitlement). These hours are funded by the government and are free of charge to parents.
- We have 26 places available for morning sessions
- Children are required to attend every morning (Monday to Friday)
- Sessions run during term time only
- All children are admitted in September, subject to spaces being available
Afternoon Sessions - 30 Hours Extended Entitlement (Free) or Paid
Monday to Friday, 12pm - 3pm
For children who attend our morning sessions, we have 13 places available for extended afternoon sessions.
These sessions can be filled by either:
- Children eligible for 30 hours funded childcare (free), or
- Families who wish to pay for the additional hours
Once morning session places have been confirmed, the school will provide information about how to apply for the extended afternoon sessions.
Notice of Cancellation of afternoon session
- One full term’s notice is required to cancel afternoon sessions
- Charges will apply for the remainder of the term if sufficient notice is not given
30 Hours Funded Childcare
Some families may be eligible for 30 hours of free childcare per week. To access the 30-hour offer, you must apply for and receive an eligibility code from the government. To apply for a code visit the government Best Start in Life website to check eligibility: https://beststartinlife.gov.uk
Please note:
- Having a 30-hour code does not automatically guarantee an afternoon place at our nursery
- Afternoon places are allocated subject to availability from our 13 places
- If you have a 30-hour code and we have an available afternoon place, your child can attend 9am-3pm at no cost
- If all 13 afternoon places are full, you will remain on our waiting list even if you have a valid 30-hour code
Paid Afternoon Sessions
If you are not eligible for 30 hours funded childcare , you can pay for afternoon sessions, subject to availability.
Costs:
- Regular afternoon sessions (booked on a consistent basis): £25.00 per afternoon session
- Ad hoc afternoon sessions (booked as needed, subject to availability): £30.00 per afternoon session
Payment Terms
- Payment for regular additional hours should be made half termly via ParentPay
- A £10.00 late payment fee will apply if payment is not received by the due date
- Payment for ad hoc sessions must be made in advance or on the same day, via ParentPay
- Late payment and late collection fees are issued separately and must be paid within 7 days
Tax-Free Childcare and Universal Credit Childcare
We accept payments through Tax-Free Childcare and childcare voucher schemes for paid afternoon sessions. These methods of payment cannot be used for optional trips or late payment/collection fees.
Meals and Snacks
Children staying all day (9am-3pm) should bring a packed lunch from home.
In addition, the nursery participates in government schemes:
- Free Fruit and Vegetable Scheme: Children receive free fruit or vegetables during the morning session
- Cool Milk Scheme: Children can receive milk during the morning through the government-funded milk scheme
Important: Parents of early years children need to sign up for the Cool Milk Scheme to receive milk.
There is no charge for fruit, vegetables or milk. Parents only need to provide packed lunches.
Non-Food Consumables
The school does not charge for consumables as parents are requested to provide them.
Parents are responsible for providing the following items for their child:
Daily essentials:
- Spare clothing:
- Water bottle
- Nappies and wipes (if needed)
- Raincoat or waterproof clothing
- Seasonal items: hat, gloves, scarf
School uniform: Nursery children are not required to wear school uniform, however, it can help them feel more settled and reduces the need to wear their own clothes. If you choose to purchase uniform items, these are available separately through Caseys. Uniform is not included in nursery fees and is entirely optional for nursery-aged children. For more information, see our Uniform Policy.
Collection Times and Late Collection Fees
It is important that children are collected promptly at the end of their session. We understand that unexpected delays may occur, but repeated late collection affects staffing and provision for all children.
Session end times:
- Morning session only: 12pm
- Full day (morning and afternoon): 3pm
Late Collection Fees
- £10.00 for the first 15 minutes late
- £5.00 for every additional 5 minutes thereafter
Late collection fees must be settled within 7 days of the late collection via ParentPay.
Optional Activities and Trips
From time to time, the nursery organises optional activities and trips to enhance children's learning experiences.
Parents will receive a letter in advance with details of the activity and the cost. We are unable to publish costs in advance as they depend on each specific event, venue and transport requirements. All costs will be clearly communicated before you need to decide whether your child will participate.
